Dimapur, November 10 (MExN): For excellence in contribution towards farming community, three Farmer Producer Company (FPCs) from Nagaland were recently awarded with Horticulture Value Chain Award 2022.
The FPCs, supported by the Department of Horticulture under Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region (MOVCD-NER) scheme were Molsang Organic Pineapple Producer Company Limited, Phek Organic Large Cardamom Producer Company Limited and Chansu Organic Kiwi Producer Company Limited.
The FPCs received the award during the two day programme on ‘Expansion of Horticulture Value Chain in India – Potential and Opportunities’ held on November 1 and 2 at Vamnicom, National Institute of Cooperative Management, Pune which was organized by the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture.
During the function, the programme was graced by Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmer’s welfare, Government of India Narendra Singh Tomar as Guest of Honour. He was accompanied by State Agriculture Minister, Abdul Sattar and State Horticulture Minister, Sandipanrao Bhumre of the Government of Maharashtra.
Under the aegis of the Department of Horticulture, the FPCs representing Nagaland participated and exhibited organic products from the State.
